7 Benefits Chia Seeds have on your Health

You might say I am CRAZY for chia seeds. I’ve been obsessed with these little guys for years. They are small but the benefits chia seeds have will sure pack a punch.

I use them in so many ways. I throw them into smoothies, energy bars, baked goods, jam, salad, pretty much EVERYTHING. Basically, my motto is: throw some chia seeds on it.

So, WHY am I so crazy about them? Let’s look at the benefits below.

Chia Seeds packed full of benefits for your skin, energy levels, and so much more!

7 Benefits Chia Seeds Have On Your Health

Here’s why everyone should be eating chia seeds as part of their daily routine:

Powerful Nutrients

They pack a powerful nutritional punch. I’m talking protein, healthy fats, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, manganese and more! The list really goes on. But even better is that they are low calorie (only 137 per ounce) and only 1 gram of carbs.

Antioxidants galore

We all could use more antioxidants to counteract the oxidative damage caused by stress and poor diet.

Friendly Fiber

Chia seeds are pretty awesome because they absorb 10-12 times their weight in water. WOW! Basically, they turn into a gel when ingested and expand, helping to keep you full. Plus, they also promote regularity (if you know what I mean).

Omega 3’s

They’ve got tons and tons of omega-3s, in fact, even more than salmon. So if you’re not a fish fan, this could be a great alternative for you!

It’s good for your bones

As I mentioned above, they have the important nutrients for good bone health, including calcium, phosphorus, magnesium and protein. So if you don’t eat dairy, chia seeds can be our bones’ best friend.

 Skin Health

Not only do they do good on the inside, but they make you look great on the outside! Chia seeds prevent free radical damage by reducing inflammation and thus prevent skin aging! Yes, please!

Energy Booster

In fact, they provide more energy than sugar filled energy drinks. Plus, they also boost your metabolism and help get rid of belly fat!

Basically, it does everything, and it’s so easy to include in your meals and snacks. You really can’t go wrong. Check out the chia seeds I love here, and let me know what you think in the comments below!
