This recipe for healthy sesame chicken is easy to make as well as being paleo, whole 30 and gluten-free. The perfect meal any night of the week and a staple healthy chicken recipe!
This healthy sesame chicken recipe has been on repeat for me lately. It is the perfect meal for any day of the week and also meal preps perfectly. It has a hint of sweetness with a ton of flavor. I pair it with some cauliflower rice and I am good to go. I swear it tastes better than take out, you will never guess that it is not only good for you but is paleo, whole 30 and gluten-free.
- 1/3 cup sesame seeds
- 1/2 cup tapioca flour
- 1/4 tsp himalayan salt
- 1 egg
- 1/2 lb chicken thigh (or breast)
- 1 tbsp avocado oil
- 3 tbsp coconut aminos
- 1/4 tsp ginger
- 1/4 tsp garlic
- 1/2 tsp honey
- 1/4 tsp tapioca flour
Mix together sesame seeds, tapioca flour and Himalayan salt in a bowl.
In a separate bowl, whisk your egg.
Slice up your chicken into small strips/pieces and set aside.
Whisk together all the ingredients for the sauce.
Heat a pan to medium heat along with the avocado oil.
Take a chicken strip and dip it into the egg mixture, then the sesame seed and flour mixture. Place in the pan. Repeat this until your pan is full but not overcrowded as this will prevent crisping. Do in batches if necessary.
Cook chicken for 3 minutes per side or until no longer pink.
Once cooked through add your sauce and stir until heated.
Serve over steamed cauliflower rice and garnish with extra sesame seeds and green onion if desired.
